Robert Glenn Cleveland

Robert Glenn "Bob" Cleveland passed from this life on Friday, December 16, 2022 at Harbor Hospice in Beaumont, TX. Born in Beaumont, February 21, 1939, the son of C.W. and Mattie Jo Cleveland, attended school in Vidor, graduating in Class of 1958 and joining the U.S. Army soon after graduation. Bob married Joy Sullivan of South Carolina in 1961 and made their home in Vidor, TX, later, Mauriceville, TX. Bob began his work life with his father, C. W. Cleveland and continued a family business. He was owner of Cleveland Construction, Inc. and participated in many construction projects in the Golden Triangle Area. Vidor Little League was a favorite pastime for the growing up years of his sons. With his family and friends, he enjoyed good times at the seashore and Toledo Bend Lake. Bob attended and served as a deacon in Trinity Baptist Church, Vidor and currently Mauriceville First Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Joy Cleveland; his sons, Glenn Cleveland and companion Tammy Hanks of Mauriceville; Todd Cleveland of Austin, TX. Grandsons, Colton Cleveland and Bradon Cleveland of Lumberton, TX; his siblings, Claude Cleveland and wife Lana, Mattie Jo Cleveland Miller and husband Gary. Many nieces and nephews who loved him dearly. He was preceded in death by his parents, C.W. and Mattie Jo Cleveland, his infant sister Delores and brother, John Wayne Cleveland. Funeral services, under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor will be held Tuesday, December 20, 2022, at Mauriceville First Baptist Church, Highway 12, Mauriceville, Tx with visitation hour of 10:00 and service following at 11:00. Burial to be Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Hwy 87 in Orange, TX. The Family asks those in attendance to wear mask due to increased Covid in our area.
