Roland Champagne, 61 of Vidor died Friday, February 4th, 2022 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont. A native of Beaumont, he was a longtime resident of Vidor. He graduated from Vidor High School and Prarie View A&M with a vocational teaching certification. Roland was a member of St. Anne's Catholic Church in Beaumont and was a retired teacher with Texas Juvenile Justice Department (TYC). He loved computers, guns and knives. Roland enjoyed watching Nascar racing and was willing to help anybody, especially with computer or car problems. He also enjoyed fishinng and surfing the internet. Visitation will begin at 6:00 pm and a rosary at 7:00 pm Monday, February 7, 2022 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. A funeral liturgy outside mass will be celebrated at 2:00 pm Tuesday, February 8, 2022 at Memorial Funeral Home with interment to follow at Autumn Oaks Cemetery in Orange. Roland was preceded in death by his parents Roland and Lou Ann Champagne. He is survived by his wife of 28 years Nancy Champagne of Vidor, TX, brother Ricky Champagne and his wife Carol of Clarkville, TN, Robert Champagne and his wife Judy of Long Island, NY, Ryan Champagne and his wife Melinda of Vidor, TX, Randy Champagne of Orange, TX, sister-in-laws Paula Hodge of Vidor, TX, Sandra Smith and her husband David of Orangefield, TX, numerous nieces and nephews, and of course his many cats. He was preceded in death by his father Roland Champagne Sr., and his mother and step-father LouAnn and Richard Haught.
