Ronald Leon Chase, 80, passed away on Monday, April 7th, 2025, at Vidor Health and Rehab in Vidor, Texas. Before settling in Vidor, Ronald was a longtime resident of Tomball, Texas.
Ronald proudly served his country in the United States Army and went on to build a lifelong career as a skilled diesel mechanic. Known for his steady hands and sharp mind, he passed along his mechanical knowledge and work ethic to his son, creating a legacy of hard work and practical wisdom.
When he wasn't under the hood of an engine, Ronald found peace in the outdoors. He loved fishing and hunting—two passions that allowed him to connect with nature and enjoy quiet moments away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
He is survived by his children: Willard Schoonover of Lake Charles, Louisiana; Bobby Schoonover of Austin, Texas; and Mark Chase of Lake Charles, Louisiana. Ronald also leaves behind eight grandchildren who will carry his memory forward with pride.
His family and friends will remember him not just for his mechanical know-how, but for his strength, resilience, and love of the simple things in life.
