Ronald "Chief" Bolen, 85, of Lavon, TX, died Saturday, May 22nd, 2021 at his home. He has been a resident of Lavon for the past 15 years. He retired as a chief from the U.S. Navy. He loved reading westerns especially ones written by Louis L'Amour, also enjoyed playing solitaire, fishing, and spending time with his family. Visitation for Ronald will be Wednesday, May 26, 2021 from 12:00 PM until 1:30 PM at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor with a graveside service following at Restlawn Memorial Park in Vidor beginning at 2:00 PM. He is survived by his daughters Cindy Sedtal of Jasper, TX, and Eva and husband Brian Tapper of Lavon, TX, grandchildren: Mandy DeRoach, Clint Atwood, Ronnie Bolen, and Troy Jones, great grandchildren: Alyssa Perez, Madison Atwood, Hannah Atwood, Cole Atwood, Abel Atwood, Raven Jones, Chrislyn Jones, Andrew Bolen, and Matthew Bolen, great great grandchildren Grayson Perez and Hadley Perez. He was preceded in death by his wife Shirley Ann Bolen, son Timothy Ronald Bolen, daughter Patricia Darlene Bolen, brothers Jack and Toxie Bolen, and sisters Bonnie Bradford and Joyce Brammer.
