Rose Holt, a cherished member of the Vidor community for over five decades, died March 15, 2024 at Baptist Hosptials of Southeast Texas in Beaumont. Born in Massachusetts, Rose embraced Texas as her home.
Rose was known for her love of horses, spending countless hours riding and connecting with these majestic animals. Her passion for the outdoors extended to her favorite pastime, fishing, where she found solace and joy in nature's beauty.
Above all, Rose held her family dear to her heart. She was a devoted mother to her children, Janine Ratliff, Patricia Marks, Travis Young, and stepchild Lisa Beck. Her love extended to her grandchildren: DJ Kirkland, Christina Ratliff, Autumn Young, Adalyn Young, Kenzie Marks, Kolten Powell, Cydnee Young, Parker Marks, and Trenton Marks. She was blessed with six great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild, who brought endless delight into her life.
Rose's compassionate spirit extended beyond her family, as she was a fervent advocate for animal welfare, particularly dogs. Her support for various animal causes touched many lives within the community.
In the journey of life, Rose experienced loss but faced it with resilience. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Leslie Holt, and previous husbands Robert Young and Johnny Letbetter and her grandchild Curtis Lee Ratliff Jr. She also mourned the loss of her brother, Dickie Brousseau, as well as numerous cousins and relatives.
As friends and family gather to honor Rose's life, let us celebrate her legacy of love, kindness, and unwavering strength. Her memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 22 at 6:00 PM at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor, where we will come together to pay tribute to Rose's remarkable life and the profound impact she made on all who knew her.
