Ruby Brucia, 91 years of age, passed away on Wednesday, July 2nd, 2015, at Vidor Health & Rehab. She was born May 20th, 1924 in Chickasaw, Alabama to Byron & Nellie Hooper. She had one sister - Frances Noble. Her husband of 55 years - Will Brucia, Sr, who passed away December 5, 1995. Ruby attended Lamar University in 1962 and went on to become an LVN, having worked at Baptist Hospital in Beaumont, and several nursing homes in the surrounding area. Ruby had a daughter - Frances Brucia Young of Broomfield, CO & her deceased husband Rev. Maxey Young of Broomfield, CO. One son, Will Brucia, Jr. & his wife Vickie of Hemphill, TX. Nine grandchildren: Greg, Chris, William, Wendell Young & Amy Wells all of Broomfield, CO. Byron, David Brucia, Kim Brucia Walker & April Loggins of Vidor & Rosevine TX. Sixteen great grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren. Several nieces & nephews & close friends of Eastgate UPC. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday July 7, at 10 am at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor, with a visitation on Monday, July 6th from 6 to 10 pm. A special thanks to those who took extra good care of her at Vidor Health & Rehab: Tara-(Honey Bee), Barbara, Dawn, Holly, Darlin, Rainey, Bianca, & Shala to name a few.
