Shoney L. Thompson

Shoney L. Thompson, 65, of Vidor died Tuesday, December 24, 2013 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont. A native of Bataan, Philippines, Shoney was a longtime resident of Vidor, and a custodian with Vidor Independent School District. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 28, 2013 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Vidor under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor, with burial to follow at Restlawn Memorial Park in Vidor. Visitation will begin at 6:00 p.m. and a Rosary will begin at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, December 27, 2013 at Memorial Funeral Home. Shoney was preceded in death by her brother Rosendo Calayag, sisters Sitang Gamban, and Lety Icban. Shoney is survived by her sons: Romeo Lingad of Vidor, John Thompson of Fort Bragg, NC., Joseph Thompson, and Richard Thompson both of Vidor, and Daniel Thompson of Mesa, AZ., daughters Snooky Collier of Fort Campbell, KY., and Boots Hagler of Vidor, brother Leonardo Calayag of Bataan, Philippines, ten grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.
