Thelma Faye George, 89, of Vidor, Texas, passed away Monday, July 28th, 2025, at Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas in Beaumont. Born in Jackson, Mississippi, Faye was a longtime resident of Vidor and the proud co-owner and operator of Jimmy and Faye's Small Engine Repair, a local business she ran alongside her late husband, Jimmie George.
Faye was known for her love of reading, her impressive clock collection, and her enthusiasm for the game of Farkle, often gathering with family and friends for a good roll of the dice and plenty of laughter. Her sharp wit, independent spirit, and deep love for her family will be remembered by all who knew her.
She is survived by her children, Joy Miller and husband Daniel of Roanoke, LA, and Sylvia Snowden of Arizona; her brother, H.L. Lewis of Mississippi; 14 grandchildren—Chris Magee and wife Tiffany, Samuel LaValle, Anthony LaValle, Nick Keil and wife Kate, Dan Dick and wife Robin, Chantel, Tory, Ben Clement, Sandra Passofaro, Jeffrey Passofaro II, Kenny Sliwa, Jake George, Michael George, and Kirk George—as well as numerous great-grandchildren.
Faye was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmie George; parents David and Ellis Lewis, daughter, Wanda LaValle; and son, Jack George, sisters Elaine Mitchell, and Merl Lewis.
She leaves behind a legacy of hard work, resilience, and the love of a large and devoted family.
