Tonia Lynn Howerton

Tonia Lynn Howerton, 55, of Vidor, passed away on Thursday, July 31, 2025. She was born on June 12, 1970, and was a longtime resident of Vidor. Tonia was a dedicated and compassionate geriatric LVN for many years, known for her deep passion for nursing and caring for others. She was a member of Turning Point Church and a woman of quiet strength and immense heart.

Tonia had a deep love for nature, she found peace in gardening, watching birds, and admiring flowers. She enjoyed spending time at the beach, fishing, and being outdoors. She adored elephants and had a special place in her heart for her beloved dogs, Maggie and Hershey. Most of all, Tonia treasured time spent with her grandchildren, they were truly her world.

She is survived by her husband Robert Charles Howerton of Vidor, TX; her children: Jared Ronning and wife Jordan of Vidor, TX; Cassie Young and husband Blake of Port Neches, TX; and Whitney Fowler and husband Jessie of Vidor, TX. She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren: Emma and Ava Ronning, Kynzlee and Brayden Young, and Ryker and Adalynn Fowler. Tonia is also survived by her brother Shawn Adams and by Mary DeGarmo.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Anthony and Debra Adams, and her daughter, Elizabeth Ronning.

Tonia’s caring spirit and love for her family will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
