Valerie Gene Wallace Williams, 72, of Vidor, passed away on Thursday, September 4, 2025, at her home. She was a lifelong resident of Vidor, and a dedicated member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Vidor, TX, and a woman of deep faith who lived her life serving others.
Valerie retired after 30 years of service with Vidor Independent School District, where she touched countless young lives at Pine Forest Elementary. Outside of her career, she found joy in Bible study, collecting unique glass pieces, and tending to her garden and flowers.
Family was the center of Valerie’s life. She loved nothing more than spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She had a gift for cooking and took every opportunity to prepare meals, whether for her family, her church, or for those in need through her volunteer work. Valerie also loved to travel, with the ocean always being her favorite destination.
She is survived by her sons Jacob Ingram and wife Rachel of Vidor, TX, and James Ingram and wife Shane of Mauriceville, TX; her daughter Cortney Shaw of Beaumont, TX; her siblings Malcom Wallace, Gary Wallace, Bruce Wallace, Theresa Jenkins, Charlotte Williams, and Mary Tigert; as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Valerie was preceded in death by her parents, Ben and Betty Wallace, and her brother, Carroll Wallace.
