Willie James Jeffcoats, a cherished and beloved member of the Mauriceville community, passed away surrounded by his family, leaving behind a legacy of warmth, strength, and devotion. Born and raised in Mississippi, James called Mauriceville home for many years, where his generous spirit touched countless lives. He was a proud US Army veteran who served his country honorably during the Korean conflict, embodying courage and dedication.He was truly a man of many talents: from hunting and fishing, to gardening and operating heavy machinery. He was a devoted member of the Cowboy Church in Orange and valued every opportunity to engage in fellowship and lend a helping hand. James deeply cared for his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and was a loving papa to any child he met. Everyone who knew James Jeffcoats will remember his open arms and how no stranger stayed a stranger for long.James is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Jackie Jeffcoats of Mauriceville, TX. Together, they built a beautiful family grounded in love and kindness. He leaves behind children Paulette (and husband Larry Baker of Silsbee, TX), Bubba (and wife Becky Jeffcoats of Fred, TX), Scottie (and wife Kyla Jeffcoats of Reeves, LA), and Jimmy (and wife Heather Seago). His grandkids and great-grandkids and great great grandkid—Lindsey (and husband Corey Kirbow), Dusty (and husband Jacob Armentor), Dually (and wife Lyra Jeffcoats), Kodie (and wife Peyton Jeffcoats), Kennedy (and husband Gunner Hart), Maci (and husband Devin Mouton), Kayson Jeffcoats, Katy Jones, Blake Jeffcoats, Luke Armentor, Balen Brown, Talia Jeffcoats, Saylor Jeffcoats, River Jeffcoats, Waylon Jeffcoats, Millie Hart, Lana Jeffcoats, Bodhi Jeffcoats, and Daxton Mouton, will always carry his spirit and stories in their hearts. Preceding him in death were his parents Nancy and Claude Jeffcoats, infant twin daughters, brother JC Jeffcoats, sister Nootsie Hitchcock, many nieces and nephews, and his great-grandson Kyler Brown.James’ wit lit up any room. His jokes—always shared with a huge grin—brought laughter and light to daily life, proving beyond all doubt that a sense of humor is the best family heirloom.James will be remembered for his unwavering generosity, steadfast faith, and boundless love for his family and friends. His memory is a cherished blessing to all who knew him.As he always said, “Glad you got to see me again”.
