Wilma Mae Humberson Cole, 91, passed away on Monday, February 6, 2017 at her home peacefully surrounded by her family. She was born on December 17, 1925 in Nacogdoches, Texas, the daughter of Ruil Marion and Viola Gregory Humberson, she was a native of Vidor, Texas and a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She joined the workforce during WWII to work as a burner at the Beaumont shipyard to release more men to fight in war. In 1944, after marrying Burrell Cole, she dedicated her life to being a homemaker and mother to their eleven children. She was loved dearly by her grandchildren, who referred to her as “Maw-Maw”. She had a quick wit and fiery spirit leaving joy, laughter, and comfort to those that were around her. She was preceded in death by her parents Ruil and Viola Humberson, husband Burrell Cole, son Robert Quintin Cole, grandson Mark Burrell Gordon Cole, brother Samuel Humberson, sister Mary Brown and sister Delores Talbert. She is survived by her children; Glenn and his wife Aurora Cole, Wayne Cole, Byron and his wife Georgette Cole, Ronnie and his wife Pam Cole, Pam and her husband Salvador Alvarez, Karla and her husband AD Moyer, Riley Cole, Preston Cole, Elizabeth Cole and Nila Cole, one sister JoAnn McIntyre, Thirty one grandchildren, forty eight great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends and family for visitation from 6-10 pm Wednesday, February 8, 2017, with services at 10 am Thursday, February 9, 2017 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. Interment will follow at Williamson Cemetery in Vidor.
