Wilton Steele Netterville Sr., 84, of Vidor, passed away Friday, October 24th, 2025, at Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas in Beaumont. A native and lifelong resident of Vidor, Wilton was a proud 1959 graduate of Vidor High School, where he played football, baseball, basketball, and track then playing football on a scholarship at Lamar University. He was a dedicated member of Rose City Baptist Church and took great pride in helping rebuild the church after the 2016 fire, spending countless hours over the years ensuring it will stand strong for future generations. Wilton worked as a carpenter and retired after many years in the trade. He also enjoyed coaching Vidor Little League baseball and football, sharing his love of sports and mentorship with local youth. In his free time, he loved fishing, hunting, and spending time with his large and loving family. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Paula Netterville of Vidor, TX; children Wilton Steele Netterville Jr. and wife Jo of Vidor, TX; Rebel Wayne Netterville and wife Lisa of Anahuac, TX; Darlene Bordelon and husband Phillip of Texas City, TX; Perry Poole and wife Missy of Vidor, TX; Terry Poole and wife Carrie of Bridge City, TX; and Jenny Ross and husband Ronnie of Orange, TX; brother Bobby Netterville of Lumberton, TX; and sister Nelwyn Dupree of Crosby, TX, and preceded in death by siblings Terry Netterville, Delores Culver, and Sonny Netterville. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and a bonus child, Pam Cox of Vidor, TX., as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Wilton will be remembered for his devotion to his faith, family, and community, and for the legacy of love, hard work, and service he leaves behind.
